Large HD showing red w/3+ GB Free

Win7, 64bit.. I have several partitions that show red in Explorer, indicating that they're filling up when they have better than 3GB free (out of 40+ GB).. How can I stop the low disk space msgs and change the behavior till it -reeeeeally- gets low (like couple hundred MB's)

I have one other system partition that was created (100mb) when I did the original install.. this one is nearly full with some MSCache folder, that holds .cab files... this one has a couple kb's free... It isnt a recovery partition ('far as I can tell) but I do get low space msgs from this... Can I clean it out/kill off the partition?

    Thanks

There is a tutorial on how to disable the low disk space message at Low Disk Space Warning in Vista - Vista Forums.

I'm not sure about the small partition though.

If it doesn't appear as a system partition in disk management then it could be safe to remove but I'm not sure.

Regarding the red bar, according to Microsoft, its a hardcoded feature and cannot be changed as of now. Maybe in SP1
Incorrect low space warning (red usage bar) in Computer
There's a similar thread here too, but unanswered.
Changing the Disk Space Bar "Low Level"

Regarding your second question, check this thread
What's on that 100MB partition? Can I delete it?
