    Auto Sign off? Please help

So all of the sudden my computer would sign off by its self. I think sign off is the right term. I have to press the space bar and put my password, and its keeps what ever windows were up and stuff.

I thought it might be my screen saver, so I turned it off. But still happens.
I dont know whats the problem.

Normally for my screen saver, I just move the mouse and it comes back on. But when it "logs me off" I have to press the space bar. then it goes to my log in screen, I put my password and it goes back to everything that was up before it "logged off" (All my windows are up, my AIM is still logged in, etc)

How do i turn this (auto "log off") off? or is somthing making it log itself out?

The simplest explanation is that you have screen saver set to to display logon screen on resume. If this is your case, the computer locks itself when going to screen saver and asks logon credentials when you resume the computer.

Go to Screen Saver settings and uncheck the option On resume, display logon screen.

I turned off my screen saver and the "On,resume display logon screen" is already unchecked.

OK. The next thing to check is the Power Options.

Open the Power Options and click Change plan options. Check if your computer is set to go to sleep after a certain amount of time of inactivity (1.). Click Change advanced power settings (2.).

Choose your power plan from the list, check if it is set up to ask password on wakeup (3.).
