The C300 had actually came with a USB adapter, but I doubt that it is USB 3.0; the chances are that it is just SATA 2.0.
With the SATA 2.0 USB adapter the maximum transfer rate would be around 40MB/s; with true USB 3.0 (not the claim on the box but actual speed) the drive could reach it's maximum 355MB/s speed.
If you don't have a USB 3.0 port, you'd be better of getting an SSD with SATA 2.0 interface that can easily max out the USB 2.0. The same size drive would cost you a third less than the C300...
With just a change of the BCLK to 160, leaving turbo and all power savings on, I get 7.4 with my i5, and 7.7 for my 4 Gig's ram now running natively at 1600MHz.
