Have you considered a SSD instead. An OCZ or Crucial C300 would easily get you to 7.6 or higher. To get a 6.2 I got a RAID10 with 4 1TB Hard Drives

Thanks, I was just wondering if I could break the 5.9 threshold with 2 of these in RAID. Seagate Momentus XT 500GB SSD Hybrid Internal Hard Drive - Jigsaw Systems Ltd
Raid or no Raid will probably not make a big difference because the access time is not going to change. For R/W and capacity it will help though. Will it go over 6 - matter of trying. Thanks, I was just wondering if I could break the 5.9 threshold with 2 of these in RAID. My OCZ Vertex 2 120Gb is ordered. Might cancel and w8 for te OCZ Vertex 3.

It’s overclocked from stock 3.07 to 3.52GHz. (i7-950)
My i7-930 was overclocked from stock 2.80 to 3.52 and only got a WEI score of 7.5 - Show Us Your WEI
7.4 sounds about right for stock though.
Just thought I would explain: My motherboard ASRock A770DE+ stated that it was Phenom X6 ready. In truth it should have said Phenom X6 capable. The BIOS version was V1.20, updating to V1.70 made my PC see the core and boot straight away. It seems BIOS updates before a core upgrade are common, but it was the absolute last thing tried because I believed it was Phenom X6 ready.
