Quote " Tbh, the HD5770 is adequate for the games that I play." Unquote.

Kindly elaborate on the letters "Tbh"? I thougt it was "The Badshah's Harem"! Googling revealed it to be "To Be Honest"! Sorry for hurting your eyes with the PR (Pungent Red)!LOL.

What is the screen resolution of your monitor?

    Regards,

    Dear Anusha,
Thanks! I should have asked you the "digital fine contrast" which is 5000:1 (very poor) on my Flatron monitor. It is shown on the top right corner(not on the screen). I am asking you all this because my WEI is getting dragged down by poor graphics of AERO on the desktop (3.2)!

Not sure if this helps but the graphics card you have NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS (256MB I think), is a lot less powerful than Anusha's ATI Radeon HD5770 1GB(Which is the same as mine). I think your card is on par with an ATI HD3650 256MB which has a much lower rating for "Desktop Performance for windows aero" and also the "3D business and gaming performance". That could be the main reason why these are lagging and nothing wharsoever to do with your display itself. I could be wrong but I don't think WEI takes your monitor into consideration when running a benchmark.

I should have stated that I base the comparison on this web review http://www.afterdawn.com/products/co...d=6502&id=8214

OK, well to be honest putting $100 on a graphics card is a bit low really, you would be better off just saving up a little longer for a better graphics card because the benefits are worth it. I have 2 HD 5770 1GB cards which sell for around £100.00 GBP each (Paid£130.00GBP for each). This is an OK card but not by any means a top card. In your price budget you would be looking at a HD 5670 512MB (https://www.amazon.co.uk/SAPPHIRE-HD5670-512MB-Express-Graphic/dp/B0032W414O/ref=sr_1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1297427554&sr=1-3),Which sells for around £58.89GBP or $94.55USD. This card would be an upgrade for you but to be honest it would be worth while saving up some extra cash and getting a 6xxxx graphics card, maybe even a high 59xxx, but go for at least 1GB DDR5, they are available now from most good stockists.
This is just my own opinion but if you must stick to your $100 budget then go for the 5670, but you will always be wanting more from that card.
(I just read your other thread, I noticed that you said you prefer Nvidia so I read a little more. I see that you were recommended the Nvidia GT 240 1GB DDR5 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/ZOTAC-GeForc...4&sr=1-2)which I'm sure is a great card, It will also cost you more than your budget £100.96GBP or $162.09USD which is nearly double the cost. If you don't play games and just want HD picture quality and want to stay below $100.00 then the ATI HD 5670 should suffice, Again though In my opinion a 1GB DDR5 graphics card from whatever manufacturer you prefer would be worth saving extra cash for.
