Hello Mattz, have you seen this tutorial at the link below?
AHCI : Enable in Windows 7 / Vista
Mattz, try the tutorial linked above, you won't have to re-install.
It works great.
I would switch to AHCI or RAID.
Thanks to Ted and Dave save My reinstall and push me to my goal WEI rating and beyond I gained from my 7.3 HDD rating to new 7.7 HDD rating from setting for AHCI WOW realy flying now My rating now is 7.4 which was my goal and when I get used to this ? I may be tempted to Juice up the Hardware for an OC run!!!

Go figure, I went out and got the latest nVidia drivers for my GTX 295 yesterday and happen to look at my WEI experience today and Windows tells me I had a change in hardware and I should re-run.
I did and my graphics scores came down .3 points which now makes my video card the slowest performing component. So why would the drivers take it down? I did not expect updated drivers would impact the WEI ratings.
Any thoughts why this would happen?
Greg
Edit/Update: I un-installed that version of the nVidia drivers and the WEI score returned to the previous ranking. Still curious why the drivers have that kind of impact to the scores.
