    Start menu Problem

Hi, im new to windows 7, looked alright thought id give it a shot.

i have this "strange" reaction when i try and pin an item to the start menu, that it appears with a (2) next to it.

I know that the (2) means that the original name is already taken, but the original is not displayed.

    Refer to attached image..

    Thanks.

Are you sure the shortcut you pinned there didn't already have a (2) on the end?

yeah, copernicus is right, i hadnt backed up my music, so fresh install without format first was my option, and no, it dosent matter where i create the shortcut from, it always appears with a (2) after it, any solutions?

Is it only Firefox that has the 2 after it, have you tried to pin anything else?

No, its not only firefox my diskeeper does it as well and a few other programs, its just odd that some have (2) after them, and some dont.

Maybe you need to do a fresh install and see if that works out better for you, just create another partition to store all your documents, music and settings on that and then do clean install and that way you will avoid any of the problems.
