    Laptop so slow

    Hello,

My laptop is going really slow nowadays, I didn't install anything and I did a full scan using NOD32.

sometimes when i sit at night and browse the Internet my laptop goes crazy and start making a big sound, and the browser stops and it'll be really annoying to scroll down and up.

    What to do ?

    Thanks

Just for grins and giggles, open msconfig/startup and disable all...reboot and see if your speed is any better... if so, you can begin to enable the start up programs one by one until you find the offending program... Personally the only startup program that I have enabled is my anti-virus.. You can also open up your task manager and see which program is using your ram.... Hope this helps...

Run free state-of-the-art CCleaner "Run Cleaner" and Registry tab monthly, then Auslogics Disk and Registry Defraggers.

Follow Tew's advice to disable all Startup programs except AV which freeload on RAM/CPU and slow performance.

Install lightweight, effective free Microsoft Security Essentials and keep it turned on. Let it run a Full scan at first then it will become invisible with no impact on system resources but more effective than paid AV bloatware.

Study repeat errors in Event Viewer>Admin view to resolve via googling and posting here.

Apps, especially browsers seem to have some memory leaks. When you leave Firefox running for a long time it will start to eat up more and more memory. This is one of the main reasons I switched to Chrome because it's memory leaks are not nearly as serious as FF. I suggest closing your browser periodically and the re opening it so it will clear the memory. Any program when running for long periods of time will start to eat up more ram. Also leaving you PC on for long periods of time can slow it down.
