    Hibernation wake-up times.

    Hello,

I noticed something strange and I don't understand the reason for that.
Ive got my Win7 machine set up to go to sleep after 15 minutes of idling, after another 15 minutes, it wakes up for a sec, dumps the ram into hibersys file and goes into hibernation mode.
It all works ok but the strange thing is the wake-up times. From sleep mode, it wakes up almost instantly obviously. From 1-2h hibernation mode it shows me the post screen, 'resuming windows' screen for 3-5 seconds, the 3-5 seconds of cursor flashing in upper left corner and then desktop... BUT after ~16h of hibernation, it can take up to 2-3 minutes for it to wake up. The 'resuming windows' takes much longer and the flashing cursor thing takes long enough for me to think it hung up on me.

I pretty much understand the technical side of hibernation mode. Thats why It seems strange to me - It shouldn't make any difference whether it hibernates for 1h or 15h. The ACPI state is the same, there are no changes done to the system during that time. It looks like it needs to warm itself up after longer periods of hibernation but its microelectronics, not tube radio.

If anyone got any idea, maybe a way to change it and make the wake up times more consistent, I would be really glad because it bugs the hell out of me.

Also, I could check it myself but I would have to change my power plans :P. If I allow hybrid sleep, go to sleep and then to hibernation - will it wake up to dump RAM do HDD or will it just, after those another 15 minutes, cut off power from RAM and use the existing hibersys file to wake-up. I'm thinking whether the additional shutdown times are worth it :P

    Thanks, IronHalik
