Memory leak?

I have 4GB of memory in my computer and for some reason if I leave My computer on for the day when I get home in the afternoon the memory usage is up at 60-90% and my computer starts getting really Laggy and slow. Then I have to turn it off and after a restart its fine for the rest of the day. I am very careful and only install programs I can trust so I'm guessing its a bug somewhere?

I have Eset smart security installed

Hope someone can help

Thanks

Exit FireFox before you leave and then re-open it when you get home. FireFox can remember your open tabs if needed.

ah ok thanks I'll try that and see if it helps. Is there supposed to be so many svchost.exe Processes?

That screenshot looks normal, apart from the abnormally high RAM usage.

The offending culprit appears to be hiding.

Download Process Explorer and under view > select columns select all the available memory monitoring options.

Hopefully it will show what taskmanager/resource monitor does not.

In short Yes: That may be because of FireFox accessing the network (i.e. connected to the internet)

I checked using process manager and nothing seems to be different. My ram usage seems to of gone down to 49% now which includes Java that I newly opened which is taking up a huge 300MB of ram!

I'd keep an eye on that Java instance. If it's @ 300mb for a newly created process, then whatever is utilising Java maybe the source of the memory leak.

Do you Facebook by any chance?

Have many add-ons for FF?
