    help me to renable boot optimize

    Hi

    i did a mistake
    i installed mydefrag and run a regkey to stop the boot optimaze built in
    with this regkey
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOptimizeFunction]
    "Enable"="N"

    now i backup my setting before made the tweak

    so i delete enable=N
    and import the original key
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    Code:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOptimizeFunction]
    "OptimizeComplete"="Yes"
    "OptimizeError"=""
    "LcnStartLocation"="0"
    "LcnEndLocation"="632037"

    i let my w7 idle for 1 hour and i get this error

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    Code:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOptimizeFunction]
    "OptimizeComplete"="No"
    "OptimizeError"="Missing Registry Entries"
    "LcnStartLocation"="0"
    "LcnEndLocation"="596962"
    before adding
    Code:
    "Enable"="N"
    , i had not a value named "Enable"

    help me please

    thanks

    Do a system restore to a point before you starting messing with the registry ... this is a perfect example of why registry tweaks should be avoided .... unless you KNOW what you are doing... let us know if you need help...

    I'm hesitant to suggest any registry "tweaks". Make a restore point before trying anything else. It's possible if you restore the "Enable"="N" and change it to "Enable"="Y". If the only issue you are having with the new added key is the optimization is off, you should probably just live with it now, or see if MyDefrag doesn't have a forum. Not knowing where you got the reg tweak from, hard to say if you can ask there. You could de a repair install of OS, but that's a big step if only issue is boot opt. is off now. A Guy

    No, I don't have that key, as you say, it isn't there until you add it. I have the other keys you have. A Guy
