Things dont show up in the Recycle Bin

I guess this is the right forum for this. But whenever I delete something I know it goes in the recycle bin but nothing shows up in it. When I click delete it says "Are you sure you want to delete all of these items?" So I know stuff is going in there but it just doesn't display in the window. So that means if I want to restore something I cant click on it. What gives?

    Welcome to Seven Forums Flacracker.

Start> In search box type CMD
Right click on cmd.exe in reults above
    Click on run as administrator
Type the following one at a time, pressing enter after each. then reboot to see if fixed

    First type attrib c:\recycler -h -s
    Enter
    Then type del c:\recycler
    Enter
    Reboot

If you think you have something in recycle bin now you want to save, let us know as this will delete current contents as well

OK, sorry, was worth a try. Let's go simpler (is that a word?).

Right click Desktop> Personalize> Change Desktop Icons in left pane

Untick both full and empty icons> Apply and ok way out

Now repeat process and click both icons. Lets see if it's easy.

Might be time to try the old standby, System Files Checker

Start> type CMD in serach box> right click on cmd.exe and click on run as administrator

When command prompt opens, type in

    sfc /scannow

(note the space after sfc) Press enter

If this doesn't fix it, next I would suggest a repair install

    Repair Install

You probably disabled Recycle Bin. There's an option that does that and instead makes things permanently delete. Right click on the Recycle Bin -> Properties -> Custom Size (instead of Don't Move Files...).

    Hope that helped.

You can use CCleaner to clean out the recycle bin.

    Hello Flacracker,

You might see if doing the tutorial below to reset the Recycle Bin may help. Be sure to do this for each hard drive letter that you have. The tutorial is for Vista, but it's the same in Windows 7.

Recycle Bin Corrupted - Cannot Delete File or Folder - Vista Forums

    Hope this helps,
