Windows 7 Ultimate High CPU usage/temp?!

I have an Hp Pavillion dv600 (specific model number is dv6929wm) and a few months back I bought windows ultimate and installed it over 64bit vista. I noticed right away that cpu usage would be extremely high at times but I figured it was just a few driver issues and things would get sorted out later on.

My problem has only gotten worse in the past few weeks. I have extremely high CPU temps and I'm not sure if it's because of my graphics (NVIDIA GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M) or another driver issue.

Recently i formatted everything and did a clean install of Ultimate only to find that my problem hasn't changed at all. It's frustrating because I'm not understand why some things i could do with EASE and have little to know cpu usage in vista, all of a sudden makes my comp strenuous in windows 7 when it's supposed to be the better OS.

The laptop gets adequate airflow and I have installed speedfan to check. Here is my specs and pics from speedfan and my processes.

Are you using a laptop cooler under it? That comes out to 80 C which is hot but not beyond a point where I think you'll do damage, how are your video temps? If those are hot as well you might have to bite the bullet and clean the inside of the laptop and radiator fins.

I haven't tested my video card temp. How would I do that?

And yeah I thought about opening it up and cleaning out all of the dust or using an air can.

I haven't had any problems with slowdown or anything. It's just annoying when I play a simple game like plants vs zombies and the cpu goes up to like 60%!!!

When I get home I'll try the things you guys suggested!

Obviously...you have to use the CPU to do computation....You are not going to get 0% usage...So why are you concerning yourself with this? From the images you posted there is nothing wrong shown. Except for maybe running the CPU at 100% all the time.

If you read my initial post, you would see that im worried because I never had these issues before I installed windows 7. I'm not a moron, I know that any program uses cpu but my question is why is it pushing the 80% range at times and why the temps are so high.

CPU-Z for CPU's and GPU-Z for GPU's both are very good programs.
