39% RAM usage when Idling?
My CPU is fine it's idling at 0% - 3% but my RAM is never going down passed 39%. I'm using the classic theme with minimal everything and I really don't know what's going on. I have 2gb of gaming RAM.

Welcome
If you download this, you will find out what is using your memory. Whatever the source, I do not think that it is a problem.

Don't worry about it. Its fine.
Until there is a high level of page faults do not concern yourself with memory.
Well the problem is, when playing Quake Live, which is a browser based game, or watching a video stream, it slows down and laggs up for about 30 seconds - 1 minute. It's a fresh install of Win7 by the way.
1) My systems idle at about 30% RAM (thats about 1 gig). You couldnt be more minimal than me, trust me.
2) 2 gb is the bare minimum ram requirement for win7. I dont know what your gaming ram specs are, but would just say get more if you want to game on that PC. 4 gigs should help. Upgrading to faster ram should also help.
It's reaching max CPU and RAM, so I'm assuming.
I thought Win7 was not supposed to be a hog..
Is it a clean install or an OEM? if its OEM, then there might be some bloatware on it. You can use Process Explorer to see more details easily on what is running.
You can also use PCDecrapifier to get rid of bloatware and other programs you didn't install or didn't want installed.

30% is normal. I have 4G of ram and idle at 1.2G used. Win7 uses this ram but there are things you can turn off or set to a different time in the Task Scheduler as well. You can also disable a lot of the programs from loading at startup by using MSConfig.
Clean install. That's kinda ridiculous, but I suppose I need more RAM in the end. Thanks guys.
