Unusually High Ram Usage in Windows 7

I have 8 gb of ram in my computer. It used to use only about 30% of its ram after startup. Now it uses about 50%, and I'm not sure why. Can anybody help?

Using the task manger or process explorer. Take a look at process and see what is running.
Run an antivirus and malwarebytes scan to check of real problems

Nothing adds up to anything close to that.

You have to check show all users on the task manager.

I believe I have done that in the second photo, at the bottom, but is there some other option that you are referring to? Also, I'm the only user on this computer.

That's odd. I just started my virus scans, and my RAM usage went down to 37%. It was at about 46% before.

We found the problem. It is most likely the antivirus. Why not use the free Microsoft Security Essentials, it was made especially for Windows and has a small foot print.

Do you mean that they were running in the background and eating up RAM? And I have AVG, MS Essentials, Spybot, and Ad-aware installed. And now Malware bytes. But I'm pretty sure I've configured them all to never run in the background....
