Why desktop icons disappear and reappear again while booting up?

My desktop icons load perfectly the first time they appear after a system boot. However, as the system continues loading stuff, they dissapear and reappear again unskinned... Is there a fix to this problem? Do I not have enough system resources? I updated to windows 7 from vista on my old gateway computer...

Check graphic card in device manager (type device manger in search). Make sure you have the most up to date drivers. Look for any yellow warning markers to indicate corrupted drivers.

Try with your AntiVirus turned off.

    Run antivirus scan

    Download and run malwarebytes.

Did you do a clean install (did you reinstall your programs)?

DONE. I BELIEVE ALL MY DRIVERES ARE UP TO DATE... NO ERRORS ON DEVICE MANAGER.
Try with your AntiVirus turned off.
    WILL DO.
    Run antivirus scan
    i WILL...
    Download and run malwarebytes.
I DID AND AM RUNNING A SCAN RIGHT NOW...

    YES I DID.

I am running a malware scan right now, afterwards I will reboot with antivirus turned off. Altho I run an automatic antivirus scan everyday automatically...

Thank you for your prompt response.:)

If these ideas do not work, we will brainstorm and others will come by, too.

Seems like the icons loaded better with the antivirus turned off (I use AVG)
Seems I take just about under three mins either way to boot up (I measured it with Speedboot racer)

Try MSE, instead Microsoft Security Essentials. Free and made just for Windows.
