Windows 7: Very Slow Boot

16 Jul 2010   #11

Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit

If you never went into bios before, it should already be at default settings. Slow start up can be a few different things. AVG anti-virus is decent. Recent testing shows that it is not the best, but still a lot better than nothing. Did your computer come with a cd containing a full copy of Windows 7? If it did, do a repair install. I'm sure there is a tutorial on here that shows how to do it, and I'll find it for you if it is an option. Have you noticed any other change in your laptop? Increased heat? More noise from the hard drive? Running slower after you actually get it going? Anything?
