So I have a network with 3 computers, a readynas, and multiple network printers.

Two machines have 64 bit RC 1, one has XP.

XP machine can see both Seven machines, and NAS.

64 bit machine one can see everything as well.

64 bit machine two could see everything when I did the first install of RC. I reinstalled to fix some boot manager issues, and now it cannot see the XP machine, nor the NAS from windows explorer. I can connect to the readynas through it's IP address in a browser no problem, I have full internet and networking between it and the first 64 bit machine.

No homegroup is set up on either seven machine. The network is set to Home. Drivers are installed for the ethernet properly, latest drivers.

I looked through settings and everything seems to be gravy. What am I missing. Nothing changed between the two installs except 18 hours of time. =/

It is funny... My networking was working fine on 7 (64 Bit RC).
Then all of a sudden... It is one way now.. The 7 PC can see all XP PCs etc and access their shared folders.
The XP machines can no longer access any shared folder on the 7 PC. Have not changed any firewall settings. Using the 7 firewall.

Self resolved problem I guess, after two or three reboots it's finally seeing all my network goodies.

My issue was on account of Symantec End Point Protections, broken implementation of Firewall on 64 Bit systems. uninstalled it. Did a custom reinstall de-selecting Firewall. Earlier, even though the firewall was not active, it had some files installed in the background causing this issue.

I'm in that same boat. 3 machines: one netbook with xp, one xp mediacenter edition 2003ish, and my main machine with windows 7RC 64bit.

With the 7000 beta I could not see the xp machines from my 7 but could navigate there by ip address. Same for the XP machines, could see each other but not 7 and could navigate by ip.

Now with W7RC I cannot navigate to or from my 7 machine.
Also, I can not navigate to my router's settings log on screen.

Ive had no end of trouble with my network disappearing over the past few months. Tired 5-6 different builds and all had the same result.
I narrowed it down to Eset V4's firewall. Im not much good with firewalls so couldnt figure out what was stopping things getting through but after turning this off and using the W7 built in one i have no more network issues.

After much swearing and troubleshooting I have had very limited success. Both XP machines can see eachother on the local network and access shared content.
The netbook XP can navigate (through local address) to the Win7 machine and access it's shared content, but it can not see the Win7 machine on the network. The Win7 machine sees neither of the XP machines on the network but can navigate to each of them by name and access shared content.
And finally, the XP media center machine (which I have connected to my living room TV) cannot see or access any of the shared data on my Win7 machine.

The problem is that my 2TB drive with all my media is on my Win7 machine. So in order to watch something on the TV I have to go into my office and push it onto the media center PC. That is totally unacceptable.

Also, I still have no access to my router's web page. Access through the netbook and media center is fine but not the Win7 machine.

Has anyone had trouble connecting (over network) a 64 bit Win7 machine with an older copy of XP (MCE)??
Maybe I just need to reset my user account privileges.
