My wireless router is very low all of a sudden.

I have a d-link wireless n xtreme gigabit router, that I have been using for a few years now. Although, my d-link wireless n xtreme adapter has proven to be incompatible with windows 7, I have never had a problem with the router before. I ended up moving my wireless router near my desktop and using a wired connection instead. Recently my dsl modem went out, it was a 2 year old 2wire with no wireless router built in. It wasn't the fastest thing I have used, but it worked. Now I am using an old speedstream 5100 series dsl modem. It works fine when plugged directly into my desktop, but when I plug it into my router and then into my desktop I cannot even pull up the google home page. However, I have noticed that my utorrent downloads are moving quickly with this configuration. Even when I turn utorrent off though, I cannot pull up any pages. When I plug the modem directly into my desktop however, I can use the internet, and my downloads are moving at dial up speeds. I would prefer this, but require the wireless router to be in use, because we have 2 laptops in the house. I have not had a chance to try the wireless connection speeds though. I'm just not sure why this would happen. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advanced! -Kevin

This is a tricky one since it seems like a hardware issue, but your also telling us that utorrent is downloading quickly. I know that i usually tell this to most people on here, bu you should start off with a scan using Malwarebytes then Spybot S&D. They are the most reliable scanners out there. I am sure that it has something to do with an infection of some sort, since downloads using torrents are easily and heavily infected.Before you start these scans though, download Ccleaner, and run a cleaner. Go into settings once installed, go into advanced settings, and uncheck the 48 hour temporary files box. Make sure everything is checked in the cleaner tab, minus the wipe free space (there are two tabs).

If your not infected, then we can run some tests, and maybe swap out some wires but i highly doubt you will need to do this.
