Computer Freezes intermittently - no BSODs

This is a new Installation, having been set up around 2 weeks ago, bot most of this time i was away on vacations.

The specs are in detail on my Sig but here is a quick rundown:

Gigabyte P55A-UD5 Mobo,
i7875K CPU,
2 x 2GB Corsair Dominator Memmory Sticks
OCZ Vertex 2 SSD for OS drive / 2x 1TB Caviar Black (Raid1) for applications. doduments ets / 2x 2TB Caviar Green ( RAID1) for media files.
Gigabyte HD5850 grpahics Card
Asus Xonar DX sound card
PSU : Corsair HX850W

the first 2 days, the PC worked like a champ, no crashes, nothing.
I tried with a couple of 3D games, as well. Everything was Ok.

Then i started having "Freezes". I t first happened while playing "Napoleon Total War".

I would play a battle, arguably the most demanding part of the game, then would finish it, go bac into the campaign screen and after 15-35 seconds the PC would freeze. No BSOD. just everything froze, I could see anything, maybe the mouse was moving, for a few more seconds, maybe not.

Within a day or so i started having the same problems, no matter what i Was doing.
Windws explorer seemd to be freezing a lot, maybe 2-3 times per day, or it could happen while i was browsing using Firefox/ IE / Chrome.
The PC will start getting suddenly slower and slower, not responcive and within 15-30 seconds, everything froze.

Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del, doesnt do anything when this happens, th task manager doesnt come up.

However in case i had it already opened, Sometimes, it continued to operate for a few seconds til it forze as well.

The last week and while I;msearching for a cure, the situation is similar, with one difference: a few times, the PC doenst freeze for ever. everything freezes for like 30 seconds to 2 minutes, and then everything goes back to normal.

I'm attaching the Perfmon Report and
Windows7_BSOD_jcgriff2 folder, zipped as intructed.

Any help is more than welcomed, this is driving me nuts.

Try removing Avira with this tool: http://www.avira.com/en/documents/utils/av7_tools/en/avuninstXPeng.zip

Replace with MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

Try removing all ATI Catalyst software, and then installing this driver: https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/10-7_vista64_win7_64_dd.exe

I see many mentions to ATI devices erroring, crashing, having a problem, etc, so I am keying in on that.

Test your temps with Sperdfan: SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

ok, i Should have been more Thorough in my reporting.

I've already done a stress test with Speefan , and another with PRime, and another with both running in tandem.
I left the PC runnign like this for something like 7 or 8 hours and no crash or freeze happened.
I'm actually running it agian now, for the past 2 or so hours whilr using the PC as well, and it runs with noproblems. CPU temp is around 63 and GPU is around 85 both normal for my hardware.

I've also run Metest 86 (4 runs), and the Windows 7 Memmory test: no rpoblems reported there either.

About the Avira and MSIE: I'll do it, already tried 2 weeks or so go, saw no change whatsoever and went back to avira.

I just scanned the PC with Avira, it found nothing. Then uninstalled it.
then scanned it with Malwarebites and it also reports my PC as clean.

And about the catalyst drivers: I think I have the latest ones, i tried however to go to the page you just suggested and i got an "Unauthorized Download " error. however I uninistalled them, and after a shutdown I'll install them anew.

And guys thanks for your input it's greatly aprecciated.

ok i need a bit more help.

after doing everything as instructed the computer worked fine for a few hours. Then it completely froze, only to unfreeze after around 40 minutes.
it worked perfectly after that , I checked the system events but didnt find any entry.

and thn it froze again for over 45 minutes and i had to restart it.

any pointers to what i should check after these "freezing" occur?

Well, so far things seem stable for the last two days. it seems that reinstalling the ATI drivers might have fixed the problem..

BTW siince installing the latest Flash player update, the Firefox and Chrome Plugin cash a lot when I try to play videos in Youtube. The browsers themselves are ok, but the whole system becomes very slow for a minute or so while the browser isolates the problem and kills the plugin...

I thoght i should come back and report, that for the pas 2 weeks or so the PC is rock solid. I'm not sure what caused the stability issues, but the situation improved after the day i re-installed the graphc card drivers.
