Hello, I just bought a brand new toshiba satilite laptop computer. It is running windows 7 home premium 64bit. I have 3g ram, 500g hd, a blu ray player and all that good stuff. The Adobe CS3 disk will not read at all. I go to the Start menu and open it and the dvd rom isnt even showing a disk in it at all!

I need help from someone who knows how to fix it. Please if you dont know for sure dont post anything. A lot of these forums get out of hand. I just need a fix that works, from someone who knows for sure that it works. Remember it isnt reading the disk at all in my Windows 7 computer. However it does read and show up on my old vista home 32 bit computer. I am not going to use the Vista at all anymore. I will be using my Windows 7 64bit from now on. Thanks

I would be extremely wary about trying to install CS3 on your machine if I were you! I have a desktop running Win 7 Home Premium 64bit and installed CS3 back when I bought it in January. At first I had the same problem as you but after a while I got it to install (I can't recall how). The problem was that it got about 90% of the way through the install process and crashed.
At that point I had a nightmare on my hands. The built in uninstall would not function and it had installed enough that every time I restarted it began to try to re-install and crashed again. I had to go in and delete all the files by hand. The problem then was that it had edited the registry and kept triggering itself by a file association or such and trying to re-install (and not finding the files). Eventually I had to go into the registry, with the aid of Revo Uninstaller Pro, and delete all the registry entries.
I got it all sorted out in the end but it took me weeks to fix. I understand from comments from others elsewhere that later versions of CS are ok but I only have 3.
