Installation of Windows 7 (32+64) big problem. Please help!

OK. Hi. My name dino13.....

OK I have a Windows 7 installation with windows 32 and 64 bit on a single DL DVD.
I dot know how to change the settings so that it installs windows 64 bit.
It never aks whitc i want. It instals 32 bit without asking me.

I have deleted the ei.cfg from the source folder and now ti asks weather I wanna install windows 7 Starter, home basic, home premium, professional or ultimate. Every version works perfectly BUT every single version is 32 bit !!!!!

What can I do....


Please help me.

Well, there is no official dvd that has both 32 bit and 64 bit files, and you yourself say it is downloaded. Nobody here can support you on an unknown, probably illegal dvd.

I hope you have a legal key? If you do, see if you can borrow a 64 bit disk from a friend or even download one (if you can find a malware free copy) but stay away from these home-brewed disks.

I have a legaly bought a licence and the insatalation is downloaded from official sites. It is paid and apsolutly LEGAL.

When you downloaded it, how many files did you actually download, and were they .iso files? Can you post an image showing the layout of files on the disk?

When you download, you get to decide which architecture (32bit/ 64bit) you want, when you buy the retail version, the package includes 2 disks (one for 32 bit, another for 64 bit).

The Windows 7 installation disc package includes both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7. If you download Windows 7 from the Microsoft Store, you'll need to choose either a 32-bit version or 64-bit version to download. So, while downloading, you either chose 32 bit or went by the default option, thats why you have a 32 bit disk only.

I'm sure what you downloaded was only the 32-bit version, the 64-bit comes separately on another DVD.

If you have both 32-bit and 64-bit ISOs you could create a single DVD that would be able to be used to install any version of Windows 7 but you will still only be able to activate the version that coincides with the key you own.
