I have hickups, slow downs and start up is slow not the Win7 loading screen the "welcome screen" stays up much longer, and when it does get in it takes forever to load up my sidebar,Antivir,Pidgin. These are the only things I have starting up which before was fine.
Also transferring any files to the computer via network or HD, makes my computer run like garbage. In 7000 network transfer did not cause it to slow down only HD transfer.
That's a great guess. A clean install would probably fix the problem. I guess you suspect this already. There's only one way to find out. Do a clean install.
Run off the .exe files for your programs to a flash drive and it isn't too bad.
Good luck.

I just did an update from 7000 to 7100 and didn't want a fresh install. Worked without a hitch. I did need to move a lot of files off the C drive to make room for the update even though there was already 3gb of free space. I think it only let me install it once I had over 12gb free space on that partition. It said the minimum should be 16gb but said I would realize less than ideal performance with such low disk space left over.
I don't notice any difference other than a few exported bookmarks from IE8 to Google Chrome (which I installed before the upgrade to RC1) fail to work.
Boot up time and even the dual boot menu run as normal and do not take longer on my system which is an older Dell Dimension 4700 3.0Ghz - 4gb ram. No surprises so far.... :::knock on wood:::
