Last week I installed win 7 upgrade to win vista. Win 7 freezes the computer every time I try to run it. I'm fed up and want to go back to vista. How do I uninstall win 7 and reinstall vista. Thank for your help.

Did you make a system image before performing the upgrade? If you did it would only be a matter of restoring that image. My guess is that you didn't so now in order to go back to Vista you would need to do a clean install. Since you need to do a clean install anyway, why don't you try installing Win 7 that way first to give it a chance? Most experienced users will tell you that upgrading is not the best way to go and is often problematic.

Make sure you do a backup of all your data as you will need that whether you go back to Vista or move forward to Win 7. All of your apps will need to be reinstalled.

In case you need it, here's a link to a tutorial to do a clean install with Upgrade version of Win 7.

As you guessed, I didn't do a system image. I don't know what that is. I did do the clean install of Win 7. Thanks for the ref to the tutorial but I had been referred to thast last week when I began this struggle with win 7. Can I do a clean install of Vista?

Hmmm... Vista has heavier hardware requirements than Win 7 so the odds are that a given computer will run better with Win 7 than it will with Vista.

Thats a good point. Most of the time its just the wrong drivers causing the problems :D
