shawn, i'm lost after step 5, on... what does it mean "run"?

5. Click on the Run button in the Security Warning pop-up.

6. Click on Continue (UAC), Yes, and OK when prompted.

7. When done, you can delete the downloaded .zip and .reg files on the desktop if you like.

8. Log off and log on, or restart the computer to apply.

Run is just the button in a pop-up window that you click on to approve merging the REG file. That's all.

When you double click on the downloaded and extracted REG file, does it open automatically with Notepad?

If so, then you will need to check in Default Programs to set the reg file extension to have it's "Current Default" program set as Registry Editor (C:\Windows\regedit.exe). Afterwards, try merging the REG file again. You should then see what I meant about the Run button. :)

Hope this helps,
Shawn

You opened the .dll file in notepad and then saved it? Have you tried renaming the file back to it's original name, including the .dll extension? ie. "example.dll"
