BSoD during extended screen - Page fault in a nonpaged area

If anyone can help me it would be awesome. The BSoD says "Page fault in a nonpaged area" and mentions the file WDKMD.sys.

I have a Toshiba E205 and only frequently use the Intel Wireless Display to watch videos on my television. It never has an issue when duplicating my screen. When I extend the screen, however, I randomly get the BSoD when I go fullscreen on my TV using VLC or streaming video in Chrome. It doesn't seem to have an issue when I'm not fullscreen on the TV and just have a normal window open.

I've attached the BSoD dump file and the System Health Report. If there is anything else I can provide that may shed some light on this just let me know.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. It's really frustrating not being able to use this great feature of Windows 7.

This is a hardware/hardware related error. The dumps blame WiDiApp.exe, Intel Corporation\Intel Wireless Display. Before you blame this program, you should update some out of date drivers and see if they are causing the problem. Out dated drivers can and do cause memory corruption and BSOD's.

Wasn't able to find the pgeffect.sys, PxHlpa64.sys, tos_sps64.sys, or TVALZFL.sys drivers.

Also, I wasn't exactly sure what to do about Lemur's suggestion of updating my Intel video driver, Atheros network card, and Intel storage controller. I kind of looked around the Toshiba support site but didn't know what exactly to download/update.

Anyways, still going well after a few days so I think the problem is fixed. Thanks to all of you for your input and assistance.

Thanks for reporting back. If you can run with those drivers, that is good. I suspect your TV tuner driver was a big part of the problem. Those that are left are Vista drivers and may work with Win 7 , at least most of the time. Did you try updating your chipset drivers from Toshiba?

I actually didn't update the havabus.sys driver. I just recently installed the related software for my Monsoon Media Vulkano and since I've been experiencing this BSoD for a few months I figured it was not related. Also, I didn't want to mess with it and end up screwing up the Vulkano player.

As far as the chipset, I think I updated this one from the Toshiba website: Intel Chipset SW Installation Utility(v9.1.1.1024; 06-10-2010; 4.6M)

Please upload your latest dump and we will see what it shows us. I suspect that 2008 havabus.sys driver is creating problems. That software is obsolete and not designed for Win 7.

Here are the dump files.

The havabus.sys is part of my Vulkano PC player, which is placeshifting software similar to a SlingBox player. I've only had this software installed for a couple of months, but have been seeing this BSoD for four or five months.

If it is the havabus.sys that's causing the problem now, what options do I have if I don't want to stop using my Vulkano Player?

Good morning - at least it is morning for me.

Your latest dump blames the driver WDKMD.sys which belongs to the application WiDiApp.exe, your Intel wireless display. The driver is up to date and likely not the real cause. Something else most like conflicted with it triggering the crash. I suspect it is havabus.sys or possibly TVALZFL.sys. Update your Toshiba drivers and uninstall whatever program havabus.sys is associated with if you cannot update the driver. These driver is obsolete. Here is an updated list of out of date drivers.

I tried looking in the Toshiba Support homepage, but could not find the following drivers:

- pgeffect.sys
- Thpevm.SYS
- tos_sps64.sys
- TVALZFL.sys

When I navigated to the support page, I clicked "product support", searched for Satellite E205-S1904, and looked in the downloads section, but couldn't locate these drivers. Is it possible they are called something else? Is there another place I can locate them to update?

Try looking the "Value Added" package and update the package. I believe this is the package you need: Toshiba Value Added Package(v1.3.14_64; 07-08-2010; 47.77M). This should update FwLnk.sys and TVALZFL.sys.

As near as I can tell, this link should update Thpevm.SYS: Toshiba HDD Protection(v2.2.0.4; 12-25-2009; 14.74M).

This link, Toshiba Web Camera Application(v1.1.1.16; 04-30-2010; 28.79M), may update pgeffect.sys.

From this link, Model Content Page, you have to go through the pages and look for things that you have on your computer.
