MSE installation question

I just installed Win7 on a reformatted drive. I downloaded and tried to install MSE, but the installer said there already was a version of MSE installed. I can't find it. Anyone knows what's going on here?

That's weird. Perhaps MSE detected that you have Defender switched on. Try disabling Windows Defender yourself before proceeding with the installation. Click :orb: and on the Search box, type "Windows Defender". Right-click on the program shortcut, select "Run as Administrator". Click "Yes" on the UAC prompt window. Now, on the main window click "Tools", then "Options". On the left panel, click "Administrator" and then uncheck "Use this program". Click "Save" to apply the change. If UAC prompts you again, just click "Yes".

I was about t revise the whole thing. When I reinstalled data after the installation, the Programs and Features list included everything that had been on the old Vista install. I uninstalled MSE and it tried to install. I then got an error 0x8007064c, which is a problem with the Miicrosoft installer. I gave up at that point and installed Kaspersky. Now I have t find out how to fix the installer error!
