Solved home premium to home professional?

home premium to professional?

I am running win 7 home premium. I bought win 7 professional at an estate auction the other day. (un opened and for $10.00) I did the upgrade advisor and it said I can do the anytime upgrade to the pro version. The one I bought is the full version though. Is there any way of upgrading to the pro version without losing any of my current programs and info?

Run the anytime upgrade and enter the full version key, when asked for.

As bill said,

You wont lose anything as you are only re-entering a product key, everything is already there, its just hidden away where you can't find it.

Just bang the code and you will be back to normal in no time at all.

Be sure to save externally a Win7 backup image so you never have to reinstall again.

If you do, then boot the Win7 Pro DVD to reinstall.

Full retail Pro can also migrate to any other machine of your choice for life, as long as it's on only one at a time.

You can reinstall Home Premium to the current machine also at any time if its the native OS whose value is not being realized while Pro is on there.

If HP is also a retail copy, then it too can migrate to any machine of your choice.
