Hey, I'm new on these forums so sry if I'm not doing this right or something...

I'm trying to install windows 7 32bit from a "family pack" upgrade disk (home premium) that I bought like a few hours ago. The disk definitely isn't scratched or dirty.
I have a similar problem, that is, when I get to the part where I am supposed to find the drive to install it on (in this case my /C drive) it shows nothing (the list of drives is empty).

I bought this computer used and it has a non genuine version of windows 7 (32bit professional)(so I know the computer is able to run windows 7) but I have been having some troubles with that (randomly restarting) so I decided to install a genuine copy of windows 7.

Current specs:

Non-genuine version of windows 7 (32bit professional)

AMD Athlon(tm) II x2 240 processor (2.8 ghz)

4gb RAM

Any help would really be appreciated

Make sure you have the latest BIOS version Update from the Support Downloads webpage for your computer or mobo. If so, reset the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

In BIOS setup, set SATA controller to AHCI first, then IDE mode if necessary.

Next wipe the HD of all code to get the cleanest possible slate: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

Boot installer to do Custom install. If no drive shows, back out and pre-partition NTFS Primary 100gb target partition which you Modify>Set to Active using free Partition Wizard bootable CD: Free Download Magic Partition Manager Software - Partition Wizard Online

If this fails, at Load Drivers link provide the SATA controller driver from the chipset downloaded from the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer or mobo.
