I am experiencing very frequent IE8 crashes. It's been happening for a while, just more frequent lately since I've been using (or trying to use) IE8 a lot more. At least once a day (Usually several times a day) while on a website, I will click a link, and IE8 will stop responding. I have to bring up taskmgr and start closing processes until IE8 either closes completely or recovers the tab(s). It does not always work either, before I had several tabs open, and when one crashed, I lost every tab except for the one I was using when the lockup occurred. Is this because I'm using the "older" version of IE8? Have problems like this been fixed?

IE7 is so much more stable for me, I never have problems with it.

Does RC1x64 have a better IE8 included with it?

LOL! IE8 from build 7000 sucked ass. Most unstable **** ever, i cant even imagine they released something like that as "beta" (should be called prealpha or something). In all other builds after 7000 IE is fine so dont worry :P

Yes it does, there have allot of positive comments on the stability in the RC and beyond, also realize that in your build it was still in Beta, where as in the RC and above it is a finished product and all the bugs have been resolved.

Why are you still on that build anyway, it will expire shortly?

The implementation of IE8 in W7 build 7000 was not the most stable that I have known. Subsequent builds have improved on its stability, and in 7229 (the version I am now using), I feel that it is as stable as it could be. Certainly, I have had no problems with it in this build.

On another note, I notice that you are still using build 7000. You will need to install a later version because this version will soon stop working. You can still download RC1 (build 7100) from the Microsoft site.

This is my work computer, which means upgrading takes time while being on the clock. Plain and simple, I've been too busy. Gotta fix everything else before I can work on my own computer.

I didn't realize this version of IE8 was a beta. That combined with the fact that my aero is all screwed up moves my PC up the priority list for some fresh OSs.

I notice that you are still using build 7000. You will need to install a later version because this version will soon stop working. You can still download RC1 (build 7100) from the Microsoft site.

I already have a vlited RC1 that I made and tested on a test computer. It works great, I just have to take the time to transfer my files to the network and then reinstall the OSs (I dual boot XPx32 and 7x64) and software for both, it takes a bit longer than a solo 7 installation, and like I said above, I haven't had any time lately.

Thanks for all the input guys!
