Looking forward to the final product, they have lots of time to promote it. I bet they have a great advertising campaign leading up to the retail release. I saw a great commercial for Bing today, made me laugh. I think MS is doing a great job with their products.
It would be nices if they had only these 3 versions instead of 6 that were supposed to. Just simple as a peace of cake, Home premium for OEM pc's, Pro for these who wants more and Ultimate for business.

Well, actually MS is gonna emphasize on Windows Starter (netbook) Home Premium (all home-oriented computer) and professional for people who need domain networking.
Professional: All the features of Home Premium+Some Business connectivity stuff (domain,etc.). They are not going to promote Ultimate like they did on vista..

Like he said every version is a 'super-set' of another... I think this brings back XP days: Home Edition: Home people; Professional: For Organisation but got everything home edition has. Only thing is Starter is out of the picture... I HOPE OEM WILL NOT SUPPORT STARTER! (MS should at least put 'aero peek' in it.. 7 looks ugly wihtout 'peek' with icons only at the taskbar).

sorry to be so ignorant, but what is domain networking ? Also, I've read that premium will allow you to boot from a VHD, now this isn't the same as the image backup facility is it?
What i'm asking really is that if I was to network a couple or three machines running 7 for a small home office setup would I really need premium? ... must check for my compatibility logo
