You need to format the disk in drive E: before you can use it

so i tried to find a solution online and i followed this link
How to disable: You need to format the disk in drive Z: before you can use it.
and ended up removing the drive letter
but now the system doesnt detect my external hard drive and rather it shows unallocated space

any idea how i can retreive my data
