Purging the list of updates I do not want

Hello:

Every time I update, I have to check the list of optional updates to see if something of interest has been added to the list of 39 language packs (which I do not need or want). Also, I do not want Live Essentials.

Is there any way to make this list of unwanted updates go away so that, in the future, I do not have to deal with them? (Yes, I know, download them

Just follow the tutorial and you can hide them.
They won't show again unless you want to restore so you can install it later.
Option One to hide.

I have Windows Live hid myself.

You can always restore the ones you want later with Option Two.
