WinLiveMail2011: want to SEND without RECEIVING

In Outlook Express I was able to SEND my mail and NOT receive new mail. I want to do that in WLM bu can't figure out how. The reason is that I want to send some stuff from one computer in my house to another in my house, and use email to do it. As soon as I send, it comes back in, in the same computer.

Is this no longer possible with WLM?

I have WLM 2011. On the upper left of the page you want to send. I clearly says send and you will not receive. I use it.

Thank you for that fast answer, Richard. If you mean the "Send" button directly to the left of the "To...Cc...Bcc...Subject" then yes, clicking that puts it into the "Outbox" but does not SEND it. If it is in there and I click the "Send/Receive" button at the top of the main window, everything is sent AND received with no more option to SEND ONLY.

Did I misunderstand you perhaps?

You seem to understand alright. The strange thing is Im talking from experience, I have WLM 2011 and my mail goes to out box, stays maybe 5 seconds (depending on size) and then it is sent. I wil check to see if there is some setting that effects that behavior.

If you switch to the option to "send mail immediately" you won't have to use the sync (send & receive) button.

Alternatively, you might be able to set up an IMAP version of the same account and make it the default. When you send and receive the mail will show up in the IMAP account but won't be downloaded until you manually sync the POP3 version of the account. In fact, if you want to be able to send and view from one pc but only download and save on the other, the viewing PC (which can also send) would use IMAP and the "normal" download/save PC would be POP3.

I doubt if MS will see it as a problem; to them the definition of "sync" when referring to the various email accounts is "send and receive". Apparently you want them to restore the feature they had in OE and WM where the "send and receive" drop down included separate "send all" and "receive all" choices. But there are other ways to transfer files from one PC to another, not subject to the limitations of email, such as a LAN or the "cloud".

Here is a workaround that might serve your purpose.
Right click on the account you are sending from, select Properties and then the Advance Tab. At the bottom select to Leave a copy of message on server. Then when you send the message and you receive it back it will remain on the server and then go to your other computer and you should also receive a copy. Not very elegant but may get the job done. It also has an option to remove it from the server after a specified number of days.
