I'm running Windows 7 64 bit... it is not OEM. I installed it fresh over a clean hard drive a few months ago. The laptop is a Gateway P-7811fx. It's about 3 years old and it a gaming laptop with a dedicated GPU.

Since the issues began I have run extensive MemTests, DriveSweeper, and Seatools... Checkdsk... I did find a few bad sectors but they were corrected. Other than that no issues. I am running the latest Nvidia driver.

The BSOD's are usually related to nvdlmkm.sys, dxgmms1.sys and a very few times mshaci.sys.

My core temps were high maxing out in the mid 70's and idling in the 50's, but I blew out the fan and heatsinks with compressed air and the temps dropped to idling in the low 40's and maxing in the mid 50's.

I have tried to run Malwarebyes full scan 3 times now and each time it has crashed to a BSOD somewhere during it....

I am getting BSOD's 3-4 times a day. I have still had one since blowing out the fans and heatsink.

I am running an external 1TB toshiba HD connected via eSATA. I started using this right about the same time I installed Win7 x64.

I have attached the files requested.

Thanks VERY much for any advice and/or suggestions,

Javaslinger

Good detailed explanation of your delema btw. I'm running dual Geforce m8700 GT gpus. I recently updated my drivers to the Nvidia latest drivers ver 266. and even tryed the beta ver. 267. Well my video started to crash OFTEN and by crash I mean Black Screen of Death. Well finally I uninstalled the Nvidia drivers and even used that prog Driver Sweeper and installed the old drivers ver568. from Nvidias archived drivers section.
I'm not sayin thats what your problem is but you do refer to the graphics as being the culprit..... A BLUE SoD usually indicates a failing hardware device or a problem accessing it in my experience.. sorry cant help you muchj!

Since BC7F was mentioned, I would strongly advice to remove any Zone Alarm software since it is notorious for causing this issue
Use the Removal Tool to completely remove it

*******************************************************************************

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
        use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: 0000000080050031
Arg3: 00000000000006f8

I may have figured out the issue... CPU-Z is showing one 2GB stick installed in Slot 2... Nothing in slot one...

However, I'm pretty sure this laptop came with 2x2GB sticks... It looks like one failed...

Thoughts?

False alarm... I had improperly seated one of them when I was cleaning out the laptop with compressed air... Now that I fixed it, CPU-Z is showing both memory cards in Slot 1 and Slot 2...
