hello
i'm thinking of buying this,( OCZ RevoDrive OCZSSDPX-1RVD0120 PCI-E x4 120GB PCI Express MLC Internal Solid State Drive ) but i'm lost as far as ( PCI-Express x4 ). i have a ( asus - pq5 pro trubo) motherboard and it has a (PCIe x16_1 blue, PCIe x16_2 black (* black at max. x8 link) ) will the ssd work on the black at max. x8 link or am i misunderstanding this hole thing?
thanks for your help

the thing is i don't have or see a PCI-E x4 on my board , i only see PCI-E x1 and pcie and the x16_1 blue, PCIe x16_2 black . so i'm not sure if the PCIe x16_2 black works as a PCI-E x4 or if my board just don't have it. also how would i no if my BIOS supports boot over PCI-E or not.
thanks again

well just on that front you can supposedly use a pci-e 16x slot for anything but pci-e 1x which is a different physical format. It's supposed to be backwards compatible, as are most of the devices (i.e. you can use a 16x compatible graphics card in a 8x slot)
hey brink
just one other thing my board is (asus p5q pro turbo) and the latest bios is 602 and dated 8/4/09. i looked on there site for any updates but didn't find anything . so i'm thinking this is not going to work on my board. what do you think ?
thanks scrooge
ps i tryed to give you some rep but for some reason the system will not let me. i says something about passing the rep around. it let give maguscreed some but not you . anyway thanks again for all your help.

Yeah, that was the only problem I found was the list at OCZ only had the (asus pq5 pro) listed instead of (asus pq5 pro turbo). It only means that the Revodrive wasn't tested on the (asus pq5 pro turbo).
I'm not sure if you will be able to boot or not from the Revodrive on the (asus pq5 pro turbo). I wouldn't think that there was to much difference from the pro vs turbo model since it works with the pro model, but who knows for sure.
