My notebook says it's windows is not genuine

I got this notebook some weeks ago, it already had Windows 7 Installed already when I got it from the manufacturer, so it is supposed to be an original install, the only thing I've modified on windows was downloading and installing SP1, yet now I get this annoying pop up window saying that my notebook isn't running genuine Windows ... which wasn't there since I bought it (like 6 weeks ago) until the last few days ... does anybody how to solve this?

And yeah the link on the pop up gets me to a page where it says I have to buy a new copy of windows ... like HUH?

  1. Please download MGADiag http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 and save it to your desktop.
  2. Double click the
    diagicon.png
    icon on your desktop.
  3. Push
    continue.png
  4. Push
    copy.png
  5. Go to Start -> Run and type in "Notepad"
  6. Go to Edit -> Paste in notepad.
  7. x out all of the numbers and letters in the line beginning with "Windows Product Key:"
  8. Copy and paste that log here.

Did you try activating with the Product Key on COA sticker on borrom of machine (behind the battery on Dell)?

You have manufacturer's tech support and full warranty for the first year, so I would call them to square you away. They must provide you with COA sticker and proper activation.
 
@gregrocker I activated windows when I got the notebook, about 6 weeks ago, and it worked perfectly fine until the last few days, it does have the COA sticker and everything...

Because of this windows thinks its non-genuine. The solution is to run sfc scan a few times to repair these files, then validate at the MS genuine website.

Sorry Jeff but that is incorrect. OEM pre-activation does not alter licensing files, neither does SP1 "changes the original files back". SP1 does not affect activation.

Tampered licensing files are usually the result of some cracks that work by zombeifying activation files. However, on a few occasions I have seen it happen when a saved image is restored.

If the laptop has a COA sticker, activate with the Product Key on the sticker after verifying System Files integrity as Bill2 suggests. SFC -SCANNOW Command

If you bought your laptop 6 weeks ago from a store, you have one-year tech support to help you with this.

If it has a COA sticker for your installed OS, then it should activate with the key on sticker or else you have been defrauded.

Where did you buy your laptop, and what happens when you try to activate with COA key?
 
Windows randomly popped up saying that I don't have a genuine key :/

Please first try recreating Licensing Store.

Recreate the Licensing Store
Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-Click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator - accept the UAC prompt
Run the following commands in the Command Prompt window, using the Enter key at the end of each

net stop sppsvc
(wait until the service has stopped before entering the following lines)

CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
REN tokens.dat tokens.bar
net start sppsvc
slui.exe

After a couple of seconds Windows Activation dialog will appear.
You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key, or Activation may occur automatically.
If you are asked for your Key, use the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case

Reboot and Post back with a new MGADiag report
