IE 9 is very annoying.

loads a page then says cant load it.

"Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website. It appears that the website continues to have a problem."

"We were unable to return you to manywebsites**.com"

"it says its a website restore error"

and when it loads then 'reloads' and shows it cant display it has this prefix before the url.

res://ieframe.dll/acr_error.htm#

im sure this is common, M$ said do a java update, but im already up-to-date, anybody else with this issue?

Is it only with one particular website, and is it a site that you added to Favorites?

"Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website. It appears that the website continues to have a problem."
IE9 used to give me exactly that same message. It was for only one particular website that I saved in Favorites. But it would only happen if I tried to open it from the Favorites menu. If I typed in the URL address it would open the site, but if I tried to open from Favorites I would get that message. I wish I could remember how I solved the problem, but I can't. But from what you said, on yours it happens more often. It must have something to do with the same bug since the message is the same.

If you click the Start button and type in Programs and Features (actually all you need to do is start typing "Program". At the left you will see several options to click on. Chose "Programs and Features". Then at the upper left side, choose "View installed updates." It will bring up a bunch of updates that you installed and in there some place you should see where you can uninstall IE9

Hit your Alt key, then up at the top hit the Help button and select "About Internet Explorer". It will tell you if which version you are actually running. When I un-installed IE9 the way that I mentioned above, I had to look real close under the "Installed updates" as it was hard to find. But it even worked on my netbook. I can't understand why it isn't on yours.

I'm not sure exactly what I did to solve the problem, but it might have been this:
1. Open Internet Explorer, click "Tools", and click "Internet Options".
2. Switch to the "Advanced" tab.
3. Refer to "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" section, and click "Reset".
4. Click "Close" when the resetting process is complete.
5. Close Internet Explorer and restart it.

If it helps

I have exactly the same issue. Daily.
I go to a website, usually anything that uses a lot of java scripts.
The page works fine for a while but usually when scrolling down it suddenly decides it isnt responding and will reload the page automatically several times which works for a few seconds then it will display the windows has given up all hope window and im not trying anymore thanks message appears as diplayed earlier in the thread.
This is a 10 day old Dell Inspiron One top of the range touchscreen PC. All fresh install with all windows java flash updates.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - IE 9 x64. 6Gb ram i5 Processor.
Very little has been added to this machine since delivery and in fact the issue was already there the first day I used it fresh out of the box.

In reply to previous suggestions;
IE browser with all add-ons disabled. All settings at default, including advanced tab. No tool-bars, no favourites in my IE, when it dies it kills EVERY instance of IE running on the machine whether its just one or 10. There is no roll-back option as it came installed.

Basically this thing was fresh and clean without any 3rd party software that didnt come out of the box installed on it.

Yet every day, repeatedly. Non responsive IE issues.

This is a problem with IE, not settings, not other peoples software to blame.
I have worked on server and client PC's for over 15 years in medium business environments and I am afraid to say this is M$ problem. They just don't test things enough before they dump them on us.

Every time it happens, surprise surprise, it blames the website. There must be something wrong with it.
Well they all work just fine in Chrome, M$, and I am pretty sure Ebay, Autotrader, Paypal, my bank and all these other sites are NOT in fact broken. Just IE is broken.

I resisted the move past IE 6 although when I got to IE7 it pretty much worked ok, IE 8 was a slow disaster first time I installed it until I tweaked it a bit. IE 9 x64.. absolutely annoying. And as for compatability mode.. has anyone used this and found it fixed anything? ever?
Chrome may not be perfect but it is working far better than IE 9 right now and firefox have a bit of catching up to do the slackers ;) Although I am sure they are working on it.

So yet again, I find myself avoiding the very browser that should be the most compatible with my system because it is the least compatible. Go figure M$.
