Emerson - an american company

Hi.
The factory where I have been employed since 1984 was some time ago sold to an American company called Emerson. We are told, that it is quite big, around 150.000 employes around the world, and that Emerson makes a lot of different things.
What they did NOT tell us, is how Emerson reputation is in U.S.A.?
Is Emerson a company that think of pollution?
Do Emerson treat their employes well?
Or is it a "money-factory" only carrying for making a lot of money?

I must say that uptil now, Emerson has treated us in Denmark very well, and we like Emerson, as it looks from here

I have notised, that a lot of you lives in U.S.A. and therefore I think that somebody know Emerson in U.S.A. and maybe can write some good or bad about it?

if so, I have a few of their products, and I've never heard anything bad about them in the news (big product recalls, strikes, employee issues, etc.)

did a bit of wikiing, they are the 56th largest corporate producer of air pollution in the US, and at one point had a lawsuit against NBC (television broadcast company) for how one of their products was portrayed on a TV show. No mention of other issues tho.

I have had two Emerson alarm clocks and would never buy another brand. I even searched for another after my last one broke. haha

I know this isn't the information you were looking for but I just had to say something good about those alarm clocks.

i think they made my T.V.
never really hear anything about them in the news and such. i guess that would be a good thing, considering a lot of other companies are on there, red handed in some kind of scandal.

Oh, well, they do make a lot of things . Here we are making hydraulic systems for supertankers, containerships, off shore and on shore oil rigs aso.

Just being curious to whom I use 1/3 of my life to work for , and as you write yourself, as long as you have not heard anything, it has a big chance of being good, as TV tents to find scandals more than goodies, also here in Denmark.
As written, we are happy to know that a big company like Emerson own us in this world financial crisis, but if Emerson was a "dirty" company, then we would never know when they just lock the gates, and we were left unimployed.
