So, I hooked up an HDMI cable to my monitor and enabled it and set it as a default device, but no sound is coming out of the TV. I don't know why this is happening. Currently, I'm playing sound out of my speakers. I got a screenie as well.

Install (or reinstall) the latest drivers from ATI for this video card. Also, could be the TV and not the sound output from the PC. Do you have another device with HDMI that you can plug into the TV and try.

Don't know if this will help but............

Is it a dedicated monitor or a HDTV? I have found on my Samsung HDTV on connecting a HDMI cable you have to ensure that the source (of signal) is set to PC. It should do this automatically but sometimes does not.

I have found as well that upon removing the HDMI cable the HDMI setting is retained as default on the PC and you have to manually reset the speaker output default setting to get sound from the PC speakers.
Again, this sometimes is automatic but not always.

Win 7 64 bit.
