Is there a Mouse Diagnostic tool?

I have a Logitech MX300 with wireless 3 button mouse.
The left, right and scroll wheel work fine, the center button doesn't seem to work at all.
I have the latest version of SetPoint and tried setting it up with different key mappings but to no avail.
I'm not even sure if it's working.

Is there any diagnostic tool that will show me when I push a button that it's being activated?

I first tried to get it to work in WOW(World of Warcraft) but no luck. I then realized it doesn't even seem to work outside the game. I mapped the button to be an 'X' and opened a text file. Pressing the button resulted in no action, no X's.

I'm running Win7 64bit.

Any ideas or info about a tool?

Thanks!

I have found that when one button stops working, it usually means that the mouse has gone bad. I think that Logitech warranty is 5 years, and when I sent them a message about a mouse limping like yours, then sent me a new one, without even returning the old one.

Most likely that button is bad. it's not uncommon either, I've had plenty of mice lose the middle click.
Logitech has excellent customer service, I recently called about an MX Revolution that stopped working properly, left click issue.
Since the mouse was 1.5 years past the warranty which I knew before I called, they couldn't warranty it so they gave me a 50% off code to purchase a new mouse, so I bought a G700.
While I was waiting for the G700 to arrive, my V550 mouse that I was using had an issue with the scroll wheel, it would scroll up fine but would sometimes not register scrolling down.
Called up Logitech and they sent me a M515 Couch Mouse, which arrived Tuesday.

I just want to verify that it's actually not working before I give them a call.

At work I tried FreshDiagnose and I don't see anything that gives me real time feedback if a button is actually being pushed or not.
It just shows a bunch of driver info, configuration and # of buttons and wheel.

Am I missing something?

It's a very impressive tool otherwise.

Thanks

I tried this at work and it looks exactly like what I need.
I'll try it when I get home!!!

Unfortunately I don't have the manual but I looked on their website and didn't see anything. I will type in mouse though and see it it finds anything.

Thanks All!

All's good!

I ran keytest and saw that the button wasn't being activated.
Then I opened up the mouse, found the switch and shorted out the pins that it's supposed to close, the button activated on screen!!!
I was able to squirt down the switch some electronic contact cleaner, it's working now.
I should see if they will replace it since I don't know how long the "repair" will last.

Thanks all!!!

you should always call first before trying to repair your device, just so you don't void your warranty.

Thanks,
but for the price of the product <$50 I wasn't too concerned.

Glad you found and fixed the problem. I agree for the price of a mouse just through it away and get a new one and save the gray hair thing.

Maybe it's just me, but if I buy something and it fails to perform and is under warranty, I'll call and see what they can do for me.

on another note, A couple of years ago I was given a dead 6 year old APC Back-Ups Pro 1000 (unit only has 3 year warranty). I was going to get new batteries for it but when I tried to get the old batteries out they were bulging, so I emailed APC and asked them if there was a way to test out the UPS before spending $80 on new batteries since the old batteries looked like they almost exploded.
APC rep emailed me back asking for my shipping address and then over-nighted me a brand new Back-Ups RS 1200, a $200 value.
