Accidentally Deleted Files I can't Seem to Get Back!

Hi there. Recently I had a virus crisis on my computer and so I backed up my data and got it fixed. But since I deleted the data I backed up, the files in question are not on my computer. Then my external hard drive failed and I am certain it is just plain un-fixable. I have been trying everything I can find on the subject online, so I am certain.

Anyhow, I found some programs for restoring deleted files on the computer, and they seemed to work ok because they would find files that I did indeed delete at the time of my backing up of the files. But the files from the folders "My Music" and "My Videos" are no where to be found. I'd really like to get my files back, but as I said they seem to be just gone. So if there's some way to go deeper into the archive or something I'd appreciate your help. Sorry if I'm not making too much sense also, I'm not so savvy with computers, which is how I ended up in this mess in the first place I'm sure lol.

The main trick in such situations is to avoid overwriting any existing data.

Hi Adrian and welcome to the Forum. If you had Windows System Restore feature turned on at the time of your problem, you may still be able to recover them by using the following program. The program is called ShadowExplorer and is a free download. It's very easy to use and you can also find a Tutorial for it in our Tutorial Section.
System restore not only takes snapshots of critical Windows files, but also of your Data Files. Using ShadowExplorer you can access these files and restore them. See link for download below.
