I changed BitComet settings not to start up at starting up Windows.
It is unchecked to start in Msconfig.
It is not in the Startup folder in Start Menu.
Why it is still starting up when starting Windows?

Looks like there is an entry in the registry that has been left after you re-set the settings in the program

Autoruns for Windows

Download and run autoruns and check the items on the startup tab for an entry pointing to bitcomet, you can then uncheck the item to check and then right click and delete the item when you are happy you have all items

Autoruns is a very powerful program and you should only use it to adjust startup of items you are familiar with and are not system critical

Thanks for the program link. It seems pretty useful. There were browser helpers for BitComet, and I didn't know what to do about those. And also there is BitComet Disk Boost Service in Msconfig - Services. I didn't know what to do about that either. I uninstalled BitComet for now, but that Autoruns program seems to be useful. Thanks for the link.

I have used CCcleaner (under tools - startup) and remove the "startup entry" to solve such issues in the past, also you may want to use auslogics registry cleaner and clean that up and reboots should solve your issue.

Yes, CCleaner works well.

I do not recommend using any Registry Cleaners, they can easily turn your computer into an expensive doorstop.

I use WinPatrol to disable startups on my computers.
