New member
Hallo all,
Immeditly after installing windows 7 on a new computer
i get random freezes, there is no BSOD or any error: the screen freezes and starts to flicker, the led of the mouse turns off and the sound jams.
I believe i have updated all drivers.
I have run the Windows 7 Memory tester and it detects no problems with my RAM,
I also have run sumsung hard drive test which reported no problem found.

I need your help please,

Oran

Your event log shows a lot of unexpected shutdowns and re-boots.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

The local Bluetooth adapter has failed in an undetermined manner and will not be used. The driver has been unloaded.

You either had a bad CD/DVD or possibly a bad CD/DVD drive.

Also your Bluetooth adapter has failed.

Windows memory tester is not very reliable.
Down load and run memtest86+, run the first test with all RAM cards installed.
RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Post test results and any minidump files you get..

is it possible?

I ran memtest86+ -it shows no errors after 10 pass.
i got one of the memory sticks out and the computer works fine.
after further investigation i noticed that the computer freezes only when that memory stick is installed.

is it possible?

From my experience, anything is possible.

With more than 4GB RAM, 2GB or larger RAM cards, you will likely need a memory controller voltage bump.
Since you have 8GB RAM, 2X4GB cards, this needs to be addressed.
With some information we can make some adjustments.

Can you download CPUZ and post a snip of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs.
For posting the information , enter 'Snipping tool' in the Start button > Search box, hit enter. Select the area you want to post and save to a convenient place.

Have you been checking your temperatures?
Use Real Temp , to check the CPU temps when at idle, under load and/or testing.
Let us know the minimum and maximum temps you get.

Go to your BIOS and tell us what the CPU, RAM and the CPU integrated memory controller voltages are.

Try d/l a new version of CPUZ 1.57.
The new CPU/motherboard may not be updated on that version.

If that doesn't work then d/l Speccy Free System information Utility.

The QPI/VTT Voltage is the integrated memory controller, bump the voltage to 1.10v.
Test for stability with both RAM cards installed.

Post the CPUZ 1.57 Memory and SPD tabs.

Yes, bump the QPI/VTT Voltage to 1.10v.

CPU - Stress Test with Prime95
Run the Prime95 Torture test for 4hours, if it has errors you can stop the test. If it stops on it's own that's an error.

First open Real Temp to monitor CPU temperatures, don't go over 77°C.
Open Prime95 and stop the test if it is running, in Advanced tab select 'Round off checking', in the Options tab select 'Torture Test...', in the window that opens select 'Blend', after 'Number of torture test threads to run' enter 4, then click OK to start the test.

Did you run Prime95 torture test?
If you did what were your CPU Core temps?

These voltages are still in the safe range.

Bump the QPI/VTT Voltage to 1.15v.

Bump the DRAM Voltage to 1.55v.

Run memtest86+ again, for a full 7 passes, best to run overnight.

Let us know if you get any freezes or crashes.

Bump the DRAM voltage to 1.60v.

If it freezes again, take out one of the RAM cards, preferably the other one that you mentioned in post#3.

You need to test both RAM cards, running one at a time to see if the system is stable.

If it is stable, run memtest86+ and Prime95 torture test.
Be sure to watch the temps when running Prime95, run it for two hours if the temps are good.

If it's running stable, passed memtest86+ for 7 passes and you're happy with it, running Prime95 is optional.

Just keep running it and try giving it some stress.
Looks like it's good.

If you have any questions or any more freezes, just post back here.

Enjoy.
