Ok, so a while back I made myself a new rig. Newegg had a deal if i buy Vista I get Windows 7 for free. Basically I upgraded Vista to Windows 7. Is my Vista license void now or is it still valid? My other right needed a reformat so I put my original Vista on that computer. Will this screw with my validation on my windows 7 rig? If it does, what should i do?

P.s. I did a validation test on both systems and they both came up clear.

When you upgraded your vista license should have been void. Your win 7 is fine. the only problem you may have is with vista. Call MS to be sure.

Was the NewEgg deal a WIn7 upgrade kit for Vista OEM?

If you are using that Vista license to qualify for Win7 Upgrade version, then you should not use Vista once you reinstall Win7.

If Vista is OEM version then the Win7 Upgrade needs to be on that machine unless you have another XP or Vista retail license to qualify for it's use on another machine.

Only if Win7 is full retail can it be installed without a qualifying Vista or XP license.
