Hi friends.

I just encountered a serious issue. I was about to reinstall Win 7. I used a tool in Hiren Boot CD
and formatted c:, and then i accidentally formatted the 125MB partition created by win 7.

my HDD was partitioned as C, D, E, F.

now i can access only C and D, E is shown as RAW file system (I cant open it).
F is shown only is disk management (without a drive letter).

So i believe that all the data is still on the HDD and can be recovered by re-building MFT.
please help me guys.
Thanks in advance

You should have your data backed up at all times externally in case of HD failure or mistakes during reinstall.

If your intention was to reinstall Win7 then deleting the System Reserved boot partition is fine since it will not be functional after a reinstall. Only if all partitions on the HD are deleted will the installer issue a 100mb System Reserved partition during install. You can move the data off to delete all partitions with the installer if you want this.

Or you can proceed with your plan to reinstall Win7 using Custom install Drive Options to delete the former System Reserved and Win7 partitions, then create a New partition in that space, Format and install Win7 there. Clean Install Windows 7

If you want to rescue your data first using the DVD use this method: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Otherwise just make sure you don't touch those data partitions while reinstalling Win7.

I used a tool in 'Hirens Boot CD' itself. the tool is located in recovery tools section.
I think the name of the tool is "test disk".
everything is fine now.

Thanks a lot dear ones, for you timely replies.
