getting a blue circle around the network icon!!

hi!

1)i get the blue circle on the network icon in the task bar.It takes a lot of time to get connected.I restart the machine and then it works fine.
2)My other problem is that when i disconnect the ADSL router and switch it on i get a error which says that this page cannot be displayed even though i am connected.
I have recently updated my drivers and there is no problem with the drivers.

Help would be appreciated.

If the router and/or modem are turned off when your computer is off, then turn them on before starting the computer.
Why are you turning off the router when you're apparently connected to the Internet?

some times when i am downloading to reset the router.

Why are you doing that?

when i am downloading multiple files some sites tell me you cannot download for the next 30 minutes or so that is when i reset the router.ANd after resetting the router when i try to connect it says the page cannot be displayed.This is what happens when i reset the router.It was working fine till a few days ago i am getting this page cannot be dispalyed.
ANd my other problem is that sometimes i get a blue circle on the network icon in the task bar and it stays for sometime and after i reboot it gets connected smoothly.It all started a couple of days back.

SO help would be highly appreciated.

What happens if you do not reset the router, and reattempt to D/L the file after the specified period of time?

The blue circle on the network icon indicates the system is searching for a network connection.
If it appears at startup, then start the modem and router before starting the computer. If that does not help, then one or more programs or services running at startup may be causing it. Repeatedly press the F8 key during startup, select "Start in Safe Mode With Networking", and press Enter. If the problem does not occur, then restart normally, open Windows Help, type in selective startup, and follow the instructions.
If it happens after the computer is running, then the router is dropping the connection. This can be caused by a device(cordless phone, microwave oven, etc.) that has the same frequency as the router, excessive distance between the computer and router, multiple obstacles between the computer and router, a bad router, etc.

then there is no problem.
