Would like to create Internet shortcuts with appropriate favicon

I keep my Internet shortcuts in folders and would like to be able to maintain the original favicon (that would otherwise be in Favorites). Please tell me how to do this. All I usually get is the IE or Firefox favicon.

Internet Shortcut Favicon

Thank you , Shawn. So far, this is the best feedback I've received (or found) so far. But I'm not sure it's exactly what I need. I'm sick at the moment so I haven't been able to experiment with the tutorial. Here's what I'm looking for - maybe this explanation will be better than the last:

If I right click on the Desktop, in the drop-down menu, there is a selection called "New." If I click on "New" I get a choice of either a "Folder" or "Shortcut" (and a lot of other things). I want to create an Internet shortcut on the Desktop with the same favicon that comes up if I create a Bookmark or Favorite. (I use both IE and Firefox.) Usually, all I get is the IE or Firefox Icon - not the Favicon. I create a lot of Internet shortcuts and categorize them in folders - so the Favicon is important to me because it makes it easier to pick out the correct shortcut when I want it. Since this works with a Favorite or Bookmark, I would think that it would work with what I'm trying to do. Can you help?

You could do Option One in the tutorial above to create a quick internet shortcut of a website with it's favicon in the middle of a blank page icon. This shortcut can be pinned to the Start Menu, taskbar, or moved anywhere.

Another option would be to right click on a nonclickable area in the website, and click on "Create shortcut" to have quickly created on the Desktop with it's favicon in the middle of a blank page icon. This shortcut will only be able to pinned in the IE icon's jumplist on the taskbar, or moved anywhere.

Option Two in the tutorial is more work, but if you copy the favicon to another location and select to use it as the shortcut's icon, then you'll have the small favicon as the main icon instead of being in the middle of a blank page.
