Similar thread was posted before, but due to some reason got deleted
hence posting again, as I have serious technical issue which needs your attention

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Explorer.exe crashes and reappear repeatedly again and again upon windows 7 start-up, making it difficult to open even task manager.

Have run Malwarebytes Anti-malware thoroughly and anti-virus scan too in the safe mode, but problem stills persists.

Crash Dump file is attached herewith.

Problem started after I installed Demon Tool (later uninstalled it in safe mode) and downloaded one .mkv file on desktop (coudn't delete it, tried unclocker too).
Have tried almost every piece of useful info. available over net, even did sfc /scannow (cmd window closes soon after giving this command) but all in vain.
:confused::(:confused::(:(

What we are seeing here is a error code almost specifically linked to hardware. Make absolutely sure the problem causing file associated with daemon tools is removed using this SPTD removal tool. DuplexSecure - Downloads
(choose uninstall when using that app)
It's not daemon tools itself that causes problems, it's the system driver associated with it.

Since a virutal device can appear as hardware to the system this could still be the cause of your problems.

Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and rename PxHelp20.sys to PXHelp20.BAK
This will break your CD/DVD program, but can easily be renamed after we've finished.
This is a older file associated with another dvd program, we need to take it out of the loop for a bit here.

Additionally you are also running a version of acronis that pre-dates their windows 7 support

Other possiblities for this error code ... it is very common for this to occur when any part of the system is overclocked. If you have overclocked anything remove the overclock now. Something may have changed in the system that is now causing that overclock to become less stable.

There is of course also the possibility that it is exactly what the error message says and you have a hardware problem.

The only thing that is easy to check is memory just run memtest86 overnight - boot from their cd

hi this is my initiation to posting, i expect no to break any rule, the only thing i want to do is help, right now i have had this issue and i solved it. the main problem in this is your .mkv file, i had like you looping with the error from explorer crash in module msvcr80.dll.
the way you can solve it is very simple, just delete the .mkv file. by now you will not have the file but you will have a fully working computer again.
YOU MUST TO DELETE IT USING THE MS-DOS command line. IF YOU TRY TO DELETE IT FROM THE EXPLORER WINDOW YOU WILL CONTINUOUSLY HAVE THE ERROR WINDOW, i did it this way:
1.- let the computer complete the start sequence until you get the error message from the crash.

2.- press any of the options you want in the app crash window: "restart program" or "look for an online solution and restart program" it doesnt even matter wich you choose, because the only thing you need is a little time to have your computer available by braking the loop, while it shows the error message again, be advised that this implies that you will have to make fast movements to start the command line, by pressing <windows> + R and typing quickly "cmd" without the quotes, and <enter> here you will see the command window, you have to do this several times until you get the command line window open. i am assuming that you have basic msdos knowledge, so for example in my case i had the file in desktop folder named the expendables 2, so i had to change to desktop with this:
---notice that i am using for example purposes the path.
c:\users\myusername> cd desktop <enter>
c:\users\myusername\desktop>cd the expendables 2 <enter>
c:\users\myusername\desktop\the expendables 2>
when you get to the folder where you have the .mkv file, in my case inside the "the expendables 2" folder, located on desktop.
just type:
del filename.mkv <enter>
when you press enter it will delay for a while, until you press again restart program on the error window.
after you do this your sistem will be fully usable again. at this point i am doing some research to fix the mkv error. so when i have something i will let you know.
this worked for me and i tought it was good idea to share the knowledge.

:confused::(:confused::(:(

I was having the Black Screen of Death with mouser pointer and realised through Event Viwer (eventvwr.msc) that the explorer.exe crash was associated to the propsys.dll located in windows\system32 folder.

So, I managed to emulate a mini WinXP via Hiren's Boot, loaded a "health" propsys.dll from my other Windows 7 system and overwrote the corrupted one. Problem solved to me!

Fix for Explorer.exe loop

I've had the same problem. It started after downloading a large 4 Gig .mkv file.
Here's how I fixed it -
1. Hold the power button until the computer shuts down
2. Power on the machine and choose 'Safe Mode with Command Prompt'
3. You will need to log-in before the command prompt appears.
4. Using the command prompt screen, navigate to the .mkv file and delete it!
5. Restart the machine normally.

If you are not familiar with command prompt, here are a few commands that you will need...
This goes to the root directory: cd\
This changes directory: cd
(for example to change to music directory if it exists: cd music)
To list the contents of a folder: dir/w
To delete a file: del filename

Hope this helps someone. Why the .mkv extension causes these problems?...not sure...anyone?

:D
