Steam dumps Dragon Age 2

FYI....

Did you guys know Steam dumped Dragan Age 2, after dumping Crysis 2 a few weeks back?

A few weeks ago, EA Games title, Crysis 2, was removed from Steam because EA wanted to post an update for the game in the in-game store. This was against Steam policy, so Steam pulled the game from their service. Now, a similar situation has occurred with Dragon Age 2.

What in the world???

Wondered why I couldn't find Crysis 2 today when having a browse of the Steam store.

I saw them promoting crysis a few weeks ago and dragon age

Is it because steam is not making profits ?

Im interested in the witcher 2 it looks pretty good so i hope steam doesn't dump that too

Looks like it's an agreement issue between Steam and EA. Basically Steam not only wants to be able to sell the game, but the DLC as well. EA wants the DLC sales through in-game store, bypassing Steam, and going against their policy.

Well that's the way I understand it anyway.

So it is mostly EA games like the sports and such hmmm

So those useing EA on steam now are going to get screwed?

or do they have a solution to this cause that would suck big time if you just purchased it off there platform

Well Crysis 2 and Dragon Age 2 aren't sports games - unless killing and destruction is a sport.

Anyway I'm sure EA and Valve (Steam) will come up with something in the near future.

On the other hand EA does have their own game store - Origin. It may not be the digital distribution platform Steam is but Valve is EA's competition by the mere fact that they too sell games so..... Who knows whats going to happen down the road?
